Gurugram, May 3: A horrifying incident has come to light from Gurugram, where a man is accused of killing his wife and four children before trying to end his own life. Police officials said on Sunday that the man is currently undergoing treatment at a civil hospital.

The tragedy took place in Wazirpur village. The victims include a 35-year-old woman and her four children, aged 14, 12, 10 and 8.

According to initial reports, after the incident, the accused attempted suicide by slitting his wrist. He was rushed to the hospital and remains under medical care.

Police have identified the accused as Nazim, originally from Moradabad, who was working as a salon owner in Gurugram.

Sharing preliminary details, ACP Naveen from Gurugram Police said the act may have been triggered by ongoing domestic issues. “The incident appears to have happened between 6 pm and 7 pm. We are investigating all possible angles,” he told the media.

While the exact cause of death is still not confirmed, officials suspect that poisoning could be involved.

People living in the area said the family had been staying in a rented house for the past few months. Neighbours mentioned that Nazim had been living there for around eight to nine months and kept to himself.

One neighbour said he killed his family and then tried to take his own life, but it is still unclear how exactly the crime was carried out. Another resident said the news has left everyone in shock, as no one was aware of any serious issues within the family.

Police have started a detailed investigation, and post-mortem examinations are being conducted to determine the exact cause of death. More information is expected as the probe continues.
